Mission of the Friends
"...to encourage, receive and administer gifts for... special items or projects not covered in the library's operating budget... and to support the library in developing its services and facilities..."

The Friends meet monthly to plan programs, prepare for the annual book sale and investigate sources of funding. Meetings are held in the Chappaqua Library, and the public is invited to attend. Our primary sources of income are the annual June used book sale, fund-raising events, special donations, membership dues, and a fall membership drive.

34TH ANNUAL YOUNG WRITERS CONTEST 2014

Sponsored by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library

AWARDS

We are pleased to congratulate the following writers for their achievements in this year's Young Writers Contest, sponsored by the Friends of the Chappaqua Library. All entries are judged "blind" by a panel of writing and editing professionals.

The Friends of the Chappaqua Library is a non-profit that exists to raise funds to support the Chappaqua Library. The Friends purchase materials like books, opera CDs, DVDs from the Critierion collection, British TV series, audio books, and furniture; they also fund programs, all of which contribute to the Chappaqua Library being one of the most popular in the Westchester Library System.

This is the 34th year the Friends have sponsored the Young Writers Contest, to recognize and support young writers of merit in our community.
