The current version of the Westchester Library System App will be retired on 1/1/2025 and replaced with a new and improved app mid-January. Hear from a Greeley Grad about her debut novel, Ros Demir Is Not the One, a story that grapples
with the complexities of female friendships and multicultural identity, inspired by the character Rosaline from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Grades 5 and up.


About the Author

Leyla Brittan is a Turkish-American writer — Ros Demir Is Not the One is her first book. She holds a bachelor's degree in English with a secondary concentration in computer science from Harvard University, and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Wyoming. Leyla is also a graduate of the Tin House YA Novel Workshop, and her short fiction has appeared in the Harvard Advocate, %X%, and Pigeon Pages. Originally from Westchester, she's worked as an outdoor sports journalist and travel writer, as well as in film and television.
