
Notary services are available by appointment only. There are no same day appointments. To schedule, please complete a reservation form here. If you believe your appointment will take longer than 15 minutes please call the library (914.2384779 x3) so we can better assist you. You do not have an appointment until your reservation is confirmed; once approved you will receive a conformation email.
Guidelines:
- Valid photo ID is required.
- The document must be in English.
- Do not sign your document in advance. All documents must be signed in the presence of a notary. All other parts of your paperwork must be filled out prior to your appointment leaving only the signature and notary statement blank. Staff notaries will not notarize any document with blank spaces and are prohibited from helping you to prepare, complete or understand legal documents.
- If the document requires a witness, you must provide your own witness at the time of notarization and may not solicit patrons using the library or library staff. Please make sure they bring valid photo ID.
- A suggested donation of $2 will be directed to the Friends of the Library.
Reminders:
- Notaries at the library cannot sign I-9 forms, birth certificates, photographs, incomplete documents or for an absent signer.
- Notaries cannot certify the authenticity of a document, or provide legal advice or counseling regarding documents.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late your appointment may be cancelled and you may need to reschedule.
Typical Availability:
- Tuesday 1:00pm-7:30pm
- Wednesday 12:00pm-7:30pm
- Friday 9:30am-5:30pm
Please note if you submit a request after library hours your appointment will not be approved until the library opens.
Before coming to your appointment (especially during winter months) please visit the Library's website to ensure the library is open. If the library is closed your appointment is automatically cancelled.
