Duo Exhibition: Beth DeWit & Tony Jefferson
January 27–March 2, 2024
About the Artist: Beth DeWit
Beth DeWit is an artist of diverse experience and is primarily self-taught, acquiring much of her skills while working as a decorative painter for 24 years in the New York Metro area.
Beth is the recipient of the 2023 Arts Alive Individual Artist Grant. The grant was awarded by Arts Westchester and the New York State Council on the Arts for the completion of a new series of paintings entitled “Shelter,” which spotlights the ongoing climate crisis.
About the Artist: Tony Jefferson
"I am a professional drummer and vocalist. My intuitive, abstract artwork is informed by my experience as an improvising jazz musician. I draw inspiration especially from African and Aboriginal art and from my travels around the world. During the stressful times of the pandemic, drawing became both a comfort and an obsession. In the 1960’s my dad worked as a graphic artist."
